Description
The University of Washington is committed to increasing the number of Pacific Islander students on campus. P.I.O.N.E.E.R. seeks to demonstrate our dedication to your education and ensure that you are equipped with the tools to help you succeed. A variety of resources will be available to participating students including workshops on UW admissions, writing, and financial aid, college admissions specialists, and a network of current Pacific Islander students and organizations. Most importantly, P.I.O.N.E.E.R. seeks to enhance students' leadership skills, help them plan for higher education, and take advantage of educational and cultural resources. P.I.O.N.E.E.R. is for high school students grades 9-12 and community college students. an opportunity to become active members in the Pacific Islander community, including events such as Polynesian Day, the Micronesian Fiesta, and Filipino Nite.
