Minority Outreach Programs
Our main purpose and goal is to expose minority high school seniors to the college environment. We target students who are in the process of choosing a college. We have programs that cater to each minority group, ranging from Polynesian and Pacific Islander, to African American and Latino students. Through our programs, we bring students into the University of Washington campus to give them a taste of what the college experience really is like. To do that, we have a dedicated and well-qualified group of Student Ambassadors, who are also students at the UW, who lead students in tours of the beautiful campus. Along with that, participants in the programs also have the chance to attend workshops to learn more about how to make themselves better candidates for college admissions and they also receive information about scholarships and financial aid. Not only that, sometimes students have the opportunity to visit different departments around the campus, from the medical field, to business, to engineering, to give them a headstart in choosing a possible major.
