High school seniors admitted to the UW.

The goal of the Purple and Gold Carpet Program is to "identify, nurture, and recruit a diverse and talented undergraduate student body to the University of Washington campus." Through this program, newly admitted students have the opportunity to explore their academic interests by interacting with faculty and/or academic staff on a one-on-one basis. This one day event typically consists of a visit to the academic department of interest on campus, lunch with UW faculty, and an optional campus tour. The main goals of this program are to attract students who are seeking a more solid understanding of the programs offered at the UW, as well as to encourage prospective students to get an early start in interacting with academic instructors and other support staff.
