COSMO - CONFIGURATION

Although Redliner was programmed only on Macintosh, it seems that Redliner can only run on PC and with Internet Explorer. Netscape crashes whenever you leave a comment on the scene. So for Mac users (since there's no VRML browser for IE) go check the models, but don't click anywhere !

All the Redliner modules have been programmed to run with Cosmo Player. If you don't have it yet running on your machine, please download it at http://www.cosmosoftware.com/ before going any further.

First contact with Redliner:

The window is always divided in two parts :

On your left, with white backgrounds are the list of the users and their comments.

On your right, with black background the visualization window.

Openig and setting the Cosmo visualization window:

After selecting wich project you'd like to see, you will be "entering" the 3D model in VRML.

A few first settings has to be made :

1. Unlock gravity by clicking on "float"

2. Open CosmoPalyer preferences and in the "Keys" menu set "shift" into "continuous seek" or "turbo mode and continuous seek".

VRML Navigation (with CosmoPlayer):

To move in a scene to easiest way is to use the already created viewpoints (when they exist !).

Otherwise use the button at the bottom of the Cosmo Browser. Two navigation modes are possible : Move and Examine

MOVE :

Change the direction you're looking at

Move along an horizontal plan (walk)

DMove along a vertical plan (fly)

EXAMINE :

Zoom on an object (world)

Turn the object (world)

Move the object

But don't forget if you want to move without the viewpoints,

ALWAYS KEEP THE SHIFT KEY DOWN, or you'll leave notes instead of moving !
