REECAS MOVES TO THE LEFT!
This is the material that will go in the left column of the newsletter, where it will wrap to the invisible edge of the first cell in the single row of the table. The next article could follow in this column, with other articles running concurrently down the right side of the page, or this article could be run over into the second column and a fresh table started for the next article.

GOOD NEWS ON ITS WAY?
As we go to press, the unofficial word from the Department of Education is that the REECAS Center will not only receive its Title VI grant, but has been awarded almost twice as much as it asked for. Citing the Center's outstanding work in the current grant period, the referees insisted that more money be found for our priority projects planned for the next three years.

VERBIAGE DETECTED IN AREA PROGRAM!
This is the verbiage that will adorn the right-hand column of the newsletter page, filling the second cell in a table with only one row. Photographs can of course be displayed in an article, aligned left or right so that the text wraps them, with dimensions set in the HTML and a 5-pixel HSPACE and VSPACE.

A SPECIAL POETRY READING ...
Pushkin On February 30th, 1999 we will be hosting a very special poetry reading. Generations of Russians have drawn inspiration from the verse of Alexander Pushkin, but the best efforts of scores of scholars have failed to establish exactly what he meant by some of his most memorable lines, and, in many cases, to whom they were dedicated. Now, thanks to a remarkable cooperation between the American firm Gentech and the Obshchestvo liubitelei mertvykh poetov in St. Petersburg, a clone of the great poet will recite a selection of his works in Roethke auditorium, followed by a question-and-answer period.
