Dr. Carter's clinical interests are neuromuscular disease (NMD) and electrodiagnosis (Edx).
Research
Current projects: 1) Pain and quality of life in NMD; 2) Role of cannabinoids in management of human NMD; 3) Electrophysiology of animal models of human NMD.

Teaching
Dr. Carter teaches residents and medical students in NMD and electrodiagnostic clinics.
Training
Dr. Carter earned a Bachelor (BS) and a Master (MS) of Science degrees in Physiology from the University of California , Davis . He earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Loyola University of Chicago, followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of California , Davis Medical Center . He then completed a NMD research fellowship.
