Margaret C. Hammond, MD

Patient Care
Dr. Hammond is clinically interested in spinal cord injuries and disorders.

Research
Her research interests include co-chairing the Spinal Cord Injury QUERI (Quality Enhancement Research Initiative) for Veterans Affairs.

Teaching
She has been involved in the development of national training programs for Veterans Affairs personnel in the areas of SCI orthotics and wheelchair issues, Spinal Cord Injury Support Clinic training, rehabilitation therapy, and the Spinal Cord Dysfunction Registry. She has written a CME package on Medical Care of Persons with Spinal Cord Injury, which was distributed to 15,000 physicians in the VA system. She is also a former Vice-Chair of the American Board of PM&R.

Training
Dr. Hammond earned a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She earned her M.R.M. degree in Rehabilitation Medicine and completed her residency in PM&R at the University of Washington.
