Deborah Kartin, PT, PhD

Patient Care
As a physical therapist, Dr. Kartin's clinical interests include
neonatal intensive care, and early
intervention, and pediatric developmental disabilities.
Research
Her research interests include the effects of prenatal exposure
to alcohol and other drugs, the development of postural control
and balance, and cerebral palsy.
Teaching
Dr. Kartin's teaching responsibilities within the Division of Physical Therapy in the professional Development Track include: Rehab 517: Physical Therapy Seminar I-IV,
and in the Lifespan Track include: Rehab 502: Lifespan Development II: Pediatrics
Training
Dr. Kartin earned a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Boston University,
and both an M.S. in Rehabilitation Medicine and a Ph.D. in
Educational Psychology from the University of Washington.
