Patient Care Dr Krabak's clinical interest is in the non-surgical prevention and treatment of sports related injuries in athletes and active individuals. He is passionate about helping patients regain their active lifestyle and seeks to support amateur to professional athletes of all ages on a local to international level. Specific areas of interest and speciality relate to endurance sports for triathletes, runner, cyclists and swimmers.

In his free time, Dr Krabak has competed in over 30 endurance athletic events including Ironman Triathlons, XTERRA and Transrockies Mountain Biking Races, Marathons and Adventure Racing
Research
Dr Krabak has several research interests relating to the endurance athlete and musculoskeletal (MSK) education of residents. He is currently involved in a multi-university study of ultra-endurance runners focusing on the epidemiologic, physiologic and psychologic impact of long distance running. He has completed several studies of the MSK training of PM&R residents and is developing educational tools to improve the MSK training of residents and medical students.
Teaching
Dr Krabak is involved in the sports medicine and musculoskeletal education and mentoring of University of Washington fellows, residents and medical students. He has lectured extensively throughout the country on the "The Ultra-Endurance Athlete", "The Multi-Sports Athlete" and "Traveling with the Sports Team." He has served as Chair of many educational courses including the 2006 AAPMR/PASSOR Annual Assembly on "The Lower Extremity" and PASSOR regional courses on the lumbar spine. He previously served as Director of the Johns Hopkins Sports Medicine Fellowship and Director of the Johns Hopkins Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program.

Undergraduate: BS Electrical Engineering, Cornell University. Medical School: State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine. Internship: Internal Medicine, Sinai Hospital- Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Residency: PM&R, New England Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine (Chief Resident). Fellowship: Sports Medicine, Mayo Clinic MBA: Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Washington, Dr Krabak was an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins where he worked as part of Johns Hopkins Sports Medicine. During this time, he served as Director of the Johns Hopkins Sports Medicine Fellowship and Director of the Johns Hopkins Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
