Occupational Therapy Degree Programs:
Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT)
The University of Washington offers a Master of Occupational
Therapy (MOT) Program that is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
(ACOTE c/o AOTA, P.O. Box 31220, Bethesda, MD 20824-1220, 301.652.2682) The program received a 10-year certificate of accreditation in 2001 and the next on-site accreditation review will be 2011/12.
This is a professional entry-level program designed to follow
the completion of a four-year bachelor's degree. Program graduates
earn a Masters of Occupational Therapy degree and are eligible
to take the national certification examination administered by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT).
Master of Occupational Therapy Program Mission
The occupational therapy program is dedicated to educating
entry-level occupational therapists who will be able to provide
quality services to individuals, groups, and organizations.
We foster the development of critical thinking and problem
solving related to occupational performance in life activities.
Our focus is on the acquisition and integration of knowledge,
values, attitudes and skills that will contribute to the graduate's
ability to function as a competent occupational therapist
and to engage in lifelong professional development. We are
committed to educational excellence, high ethical standards
and respect for diversity.
