If a potential student indicates on their application he is the child of an alumni, a "Y" entry is made in a field "CHILD ALUM" as a part of the information entered during the application entry process. If an applicant is not a child of an alumni, the field is left blank - an "N" does not need to be entered. An entry of "Y" is interpreted as a 1, a null entry is interpreted as a 0.
