UWSDB Configuration
Description
UWSDB is a relational database which is a snapshot of the student data meant for Ad Hoc research. It is not meant to be a direct data source for high-demand, high-availability applications. (If you need data on a 24x7, high availability basis, please contact Data Management to discuss options.) It is hosted on the SQL 2005 server SDBSQLC1DB1.
Changes from siriussql:
Upgrade from SQL2000 to SQL2005
New system architecture that utilizes both mirroring and snapshots
SQL accounts eliminated, replaced by Managed NETID accounts
These pages describe the steps necessary for configuring either the Microsoft SQL Client Tools or Microsoft Access to access UWSDB, as well as providing some basic pointers to help you start using the UWSDB data source.
