Service - Data Management serves a large and diverse clientele of organizations, offices, and individuals. The office is driven by an ethic of service to clients, to the University, to the public, to the pursuit of knowledge, and to the institution of higher education.
Leadership - Data Management leads a large and growing community of professionals from Enrollment Services and from organizations across the University in continuous pursuit of better ways to manage information and expand knowledge.
Stewardship - Data Management must protect, respect, and strengthen the many data collections, systems and processes over which the office has influence.
Mentorship - Data Management fosters process ownership, engagement, excitement, commitment, and professional growth in the people and offices making up the Information Management Community of the University of Washington.
Expertise - Data Management provides expert guidance to client offices and individuals on every part of campus and beyond. With this guidance, Data Management clients more effectively apply advanced tools, better use complex data systems, and more efficiently navigate the regulatory environment.
Authority - Data Management has the authority to grant access to core University data systems, and the responsibility to determine appropriate usage of those data systems. Data Management also has authority to derive, define and publish official University measures and statistics for use by all University offices and external organizations.
