Archiving and Discovering of Data and Metadata Generated through Projects Funded by the NSF Arctic Sciences Section

The National Science Foundation (NSF) invites investigators at U.S. organizations to submit proposals for a cooperative agreement for archival of data and access to data and metadata generated through projects funded by the NSF Arctic Sciences Section. Proposals should focus on providing data and metadata ingest services for NSF-funded data providers, data and metadata access services to scientists across disciplines and other Arctic stakeholders (including decision-makers), and data and metadata archival services to ensure that the data is accessible and discoverable in the future.

Application Instructions

Please submit:

  1. a one-page letter of intent with a description of proposed aims and approach
  2. Biosketch or CV of the PI
  3. A letter of support from the Dean or Chair. This letter of support signifies that the Dean or Chair have ensured that the nominee and application are likely to be of sufficient quality to be competitive nationally

 

to research@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Thursday, March 26, 2015. A letter of intent is due to the sponsor 4/17/15. Full proposals are due to the sponsor 5/18/15, so you will need to have your materials in to the Office of Sponsored Programs by 5/8/15 for processing, if given the go ahead by the Proposal Review Committee.

Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
