Gerda Henkel Prize
Every two years, the Gerda Henkel Foundation awards the Gerda Henkel Prize for outstanding research in the historical humanities. The prize is worth € 100,000. On behalf of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, we are delighted to invite you to nominate a candidate for the Gerda Henkel Prize 2016.
Internationally acclaimed researchers from the disciplines promoted by the Gerda Henkel Foundation - Archaeology, Art History, Historic Islamic Studies, History, History of Law, History of Science, Prehistory, and Early History - must be nominated before 15 January 2016. In addition we will be accepting nominations from the fields of the "Islam, the Modern Nation State and Transnational Movements" and "Security, Society and the State" special programmes. Other focal points of the Foundation’s efforts are support for young scholars in the humanities in both Africa and Southeast Asia as well as for the preservation of our cultural heritage, specifically in regions experiencing crisis.

Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
