Art Works 2017
Note: This announcement is for UW academic units only. Other independent UW components as defined by the NEA (The Henry, The Burke Museum, Meany Hall) will be applying through other respective mechanisms.
To support the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and the strengthening of communities through the arts. Matching grants generally range from $10,000 to $100,000. All grants require a nonfederal match of at least 1 to 1. For example, if an organization receives a $10,000 grant, the total eligible project costs must be at least $20,000 and the organization must provide at least $10,000 toward the project from nonfederal sources.
All pre-proposals will be submitted to the limited-submission committee for consideration. The committee will be comprised of experts to be chosen by the Dean’s Office in the College of Arts & Sciences: Catherine Cole, Divisional Dean for the Arts and Steve Majeski, Associate Dean For Research Administration and Infrastructure. This committee will select one pre-application to be developed as a full application for submission to NEA. OSP will be informed of the selection.

Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
