Strengthening HIV/AIDS Research in Kenya
To conduct clinical trials and public health research for the prevention and treatment of HIV in Kenya with particular emphasis on biomedical interventions, including alternative methods to deliver HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis such as vaginal rings. Additional studies may include research on: HIV transmission, optimization of HIV care and treatment, alternative biomedical modalities for HV prevention, HIV cure, risk factors for and the epidemiology of HIV infections and interventions that prevent or minimize HIV co-morbidities.

- a one-page letter of intent with a description of proposed aims and approach
- Biosketch or CV of the PI
to research@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Thursday, March 2, 2017. Full proposals are due to the sponsor 4/4/17, so you will need to have your materials in to the Office of Sponsored Programs by 3/27/17 for processing, if given the go ahead by the Proposal Review Committee.

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
