2018 Ono Pharma Breakthrough Science Initiative Awards: Chemical Biology Research

Limited Submissions

Ono Pharma Foundation announces the start of the second year of the annual Breakthrough Science Initiative Awards Program in the United States and Canada. Proposals from Principal Investigators will be considered for original research that can lead to science discoveries/solutions and, possibly, based on further research, to breakthrough treatment solutions for patients to transform human health. Applications will be considered from Principal Investigators nominated by some 24 United States Universities and Pharmaceutical Research Institutes in the Chemical Biology field for laboratory investigation to be carried out in the United States. For the Oligonucleotide research field, applications will be considered from any eligible Universities and Institutions in the United States and Canada.  Of the 2 awards offered, only the Chemical Biology Research one is limited.

Application Instructions

Please submit:

  1. a one-page letter of intent with a description of proposed aims and approach
  2. Biosketch or CV of the PI
  3. A letter of support from the Dean or Chair. This letter of support signifies that the Dean or Chair have ensured that the nominee and application are likely to be of sufficient quality to be competitive nationally

 

to research@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Thursday January 11, 2018. An LOI is due to the sponsor 2/28/18, if given the go-ahead by the review committee. Invited full proposals are due to the sponsor 5/31/18, so you will need to have your materials in to OSP by 5/23/18 for processing.
