Breakthrough Research Grant Program Funding Opportunity 2018
Washington’s Cancer Research Endowment (CARE) Fund is excited to announce the launch of the Breakthrough Research Grant Program. The Program seeks to provide seed funding for innovative, cross-disciplinary research and collaborations that aim to find the next big discovery in the cancer research field. CARE intends to match, dollar-for-dollar, contributions of research groups, partnerships, or collaborations aimed at solving critical challenges in cancer research, allowing them to more rapidly pursue their best ideas. Successful grantees will be eligible to receive up to $750,000 in the first year and up to $3 million per year over the next 4 years. More information on the Breakthrough Research Program, including a Program Description and Letter of Interest Template, can be found on the CARE website. The Program Description and LOI Template are also attached.
CARE will accept Breakthrough Research Program Letters of Interest through March 9, 2018. Only invited applicants will have an opportunity to submit a full proposal application. Please contact Peter Choi (peter@empirehealthfoundation.org) for questions regarding the program or application.

Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
