Distinguished Researchers Program 2019

The Andy Hill Cancer Research Endowment (CARE) Fund supports recruitments of distinguished researchers from around the globe to bring their best-in-class talent to research organizations and companies in Washington. The Distinguished Researchers Program will match, dollar for dollar, Washington research institutions’, organizations’, and commercial entities’ recruitment commitments up to $500,000 per recruitment, to add value to recruitment packages that bring leading cancer researchers to Washington. CARE grant funds may be used for any purpose (e.g., salaries, equipment, etc.) that advances the scholar’s research.

Application Instructions

To be considered internally for this opportunity Departmental Chairs, or the equivalent person in charge of a faculty recruitment, should submit a statement of 2-3 pages describing how the recruitment will address the four review criteria stated in the announcement (https://www.wacarefund.org/care-distinguished-researchers-program). Please note; from reading the announcement, it looks that a specific individual needs to have been recruited.

 

to research@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Thursday November 1, 2018. Proposals are due to the sponsor 12/4/18, so you will need to have your materials in to the Office of Sponsored Programs by 11/26/18 for processing, if given the go ahead by the Proposal Review Committee.

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
