Subject: Invitation for Breakthrough Prize Nominations

I would like to invite you to make nominations for the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences. Up to four prizes will be awarded to exceptional researchers in the field of Life Sciences. Three prizes will be awarded in any area in basic or medical life sciences, and one prize will specifically recognize advances in Parkinson’s disease or other neurological disorders.

To register and make nominations, visit https://breakthroughprize.org. The deadline is April 1.

The Breakthrough Prize celebrates transformative advances toward understanding living systems and extending human life, focusing on advances during the past 15 years. Profiles of the laureates from 2013-2020 are available at https://breakthroughprize.org/Laureates/2.

The 2021 prizes will be presented in the fall of 2020 at a globally broadcast awards ceremony.

I'm attaching a document with all of the prizes available from the foundation this year that you can circulate to colleagues at your institution and in your field. If you have any technical questions on the nominating process, please contact Rob Meyer at meyer@breakthroughprize.org.

With best regards,

Cori

Inquiries and Contact Information

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.

For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
