Public Interest Technology University Network Challenge – Year

Information Session: Tuesday, May 26, 2020, 11am-12pm(link: https://washington.zoom.us/j/98225028653) - Agenda: Overview of PIT network, UW’s member profile, and PIT UN Challenge 2020 RFP; Q&A; Discussion of collaboration opportunities

In February 2020, the University of Washington was accepted as a member of the Public Interest Technology Network (PIT UN). For background, see PIT UN Overview. Through the development of curricula, research agendas, and experiential learning programs in the public interest technology space, these universities are trying innovative tactics to produce graduates with multiple fluencies at the intersection of technology and policy.

As a member institution, UW faculty and researchers are now eligible for the Year 2 PIT University Network Challenge (RFP attached, FAQ). The PIT UN Challenge seeks to encourage new ideas, foster collaborations, and incentivize resource- and information-sharing among network members. For its second year, projects are especially encouraged in the two priority areas in bold, although proposals addressing any priority area are welcome.

  1. Educational Offerings
  2. Career Pipeline/Placement
  3. Faculty & Institution Building
  4. Strengthening the PIT University Network

Inquiries and Contact Information

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.

For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
