Partnerships for Innovation (PFI)

Limited Submissions

The Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) Program within the Division of Industrial Innovation and Partnerships (IIP) offers researchers from all disciplines of science and engineering funded by NSF the opportunity to perform translational research and technology development, catalyze partnerships and accelerate the transition of discoveries from the laboratory to the marketplace for societal benefit.

Application Instructions

 

Please submit:

 

  1. a one‐ page description of research accomplishments, and please note the disciplinary category
  2. Full CV of the PI (not an NIH or NSF biosketch)
  3. A letter of support from the Dean or Chair. This letter of support signifies that the Dean or Chair have ensured that  the nominee and application are likely to be of sufficient quality to be competitive nationally

 

 

to research@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Thursday June 25, 2020. Full proposals are due to the sponsor 8/5/20, so you will need to have your materials in to OSP by 7/27/20, if given the go ahead by the Proposal Review Committee.

$0 (PFI-TT projects will be funded for up to $250,000 for 18-24 months per award; approximately 40-50 awards are anticipated. PFI-RP projects will be funded for up to $550,000 for 36 months. Approximately 10-15 awards are anticipated.)

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
