The Global Engagement Center (GEC) at the Department of State (DoS), announces the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for its Annual Program Statement. The agreement awarded will use U.S. Fiscal Year 2021/22 Public Diplomacy Funds or Economic Support Funds.

Applicants may submit one proposal per priority program area. If more than one proposal is submitted from an organization in a given priority program area, all proposals from that organization will be considered ineligible for funding.

Proposals which have been submitted to a previous GEC NOFO within the past 12 months will be considered ineligible.

Grants or cooperative agreements for up to $500,000 U.S. dollars (USD) in FY 2021/22 Public Diplomacy or Foreign Assistance Act will be awarded for work that will support the GEC’s overall mission to recognize, understand, expose, and counter foreign state and foreign non-state propaganda and disinformation efforts. The initial period of performance will be for up to 24 months. Inquiries and Contact Information

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.

For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
