Direct Effect and Priority Impact Quality of Life grants initiatives
The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center announces grant funding opportunities through its 2022 2nd Cycle Direct Effect and Priority Impact Quality of Life grants initiatives.
Direct Effect (Tier 1) grants offer up to $25,000 to nonprofit organizations for a wide range of projects that clearly impact individuals living with paralysis, their families, and caregivers.
Priority Impact (Tiers 2, 3 & 4) offers three increasing levels of grant funding. Each tier is targeted to focus on a Priority issue for the community of individuals living with paralysis and their families, and caregivers as follows:
Tier 2-- Grants of up to $30,000 for the following Priority areas:
- Respite/Caregiving
- Assistive Technology
- COVID-19: Addressing Social Isolation
Tier 3-- Grants of up to $40,000
- Nursing Home Transition
- Racial Equity*
- Rural Unserved and Underserved Populations**
Tier 4-- Grants of up to $50,000
- Employment
*The aim of the Reeve Foundation’s new Racial Equity grants program is to fund projects that explicitly benefit people and communities that are racially diverse and/or historically underserved living with paralysis and/or promote racial equity for people living with paralysis. The projects may focus on a number of issues that enhance the quality of life of those individuals living at the crossroads of racial inequity and paralysis, especially those from Black, Latino, Indigenous, Native American, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities, and other marginalized racial groups. **The aim of the Reeve Foundation’s new Rural Unserved and Underserved Populations grants program is to fund projects that explicitly benefit people living with paralysis in unserved and underserved rural communities. A free Application Technical Assistance Webinar will be held on Wednesday, September 7th from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm EST. A Question & Answer period will be provided. You may register on the website.
Application Instructions
Please submit:
- A one‐page letter of intent with a description of proposed aims and approach
- If the final application requires a diversity statement or statement of broader impacts, please summarize your plans to address the specific requirements on an additional page.
- CV (not biosketch) of the PI
to limitedsubs@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Proposals are due to the sponsor 10/13/2022, so you will need to have your materials in to the Office of Sponsored Programs by 10/4/2022 if given the go‐ahead by the review committee.

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
