Public Interest Technology University Network Challenge – Year 5
In February 2020, the University of Washington was accepted as a member of the Public Interest Technology Network (PIT UN). For background, seePIT UN Overview. Through the development of curricula, research agendas, and experiential learning programs in the public interest technology space, these universities are trying innovative tactics to produce graduates with multiple fluencies at the intersection of technology and policy.
As a member institution, UW faculty and researchers are eligible for the Year 5 PIT University Network Challenge (RFP & FAQ attached). The PIT UN Challenge seeks to encourage new ideas, foster collaborations, and incentivize resource- and information-sharing among network members. For its fifth year, projects are encouraged in the following priority areas:
- Educational Offerings
- Career Pipeline/Placement

Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
