Warren Alpert Prize

Note: This is not a limited submission and is being announced as a courtesy only.

Nominations are open for the 2024 Warren Alpert Foundation Prize. The purpose of the prize is to recognize one to five scientists whose scientific achievements have led to the prevention, cure, or treatment of human disorders or for seminal research that holds great promise to change our ability to treat disease. Scientists of all nationalities and institutional affiliations are eligible to receive the prize. The scientific advisory committee strongly encourages nominations of women and under-represented candidates.

The prize includes an unrestricted cash award of $500,000, and a crystal plaque. Awardees will be honored at a scientific symposium at Harvard Medical School in early October of 2024. First awarded in 1987, the Warren Alpert Foundation Prize has recognized ten future Nobel Prize winners.

To submit a nomination for the 2024 prize, please visit http://warrenalpert.org. The deadline for receipt of nominations is November 8, 2023.

Inquiries and Contact Information

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.

For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
