Yidan Prize
Note: This is not a limited submission and is being sent out as a courtesy only.
The Yidan Prize recognizes the brightest minds in education and build a community around them. A community that promotes collaboration, shares what works, and is as strong in research and testing as it is in practical application. The prize spans two areas:
Education Research
The theory of learning—science, psychology, statistics—that can help educators gain a more methodical understanding of their approaches.
Education Development
The practice of learning—new methods, ways to make education more widespread—so we can champion techniques that work.
Each prize comprises a gold medal and a total sum of HK$30 million (around US$3.8 million). Half is a cash prize of HK$15 million. The other HK$15 million is a project fund to help them expand their initiatives.

Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
