Graduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (G-RISE) (T32)

Limited Submissions

The goal of the Graduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (G-RISE) program is to strengthen research training environments and promote broader participation in the biomedical research workforce by expanding the pool of well-trained scientists earning a Ph.D., for example, encouraging the inclusion of individuals from underrepresented groups (see Notice of NIH’s Interest in Diversity).

Specifically, this funding announcement provides support to eligible, domestic organizations to develop and implement effective, evidence-informed approaches to biomedical graduate training and mentoring that will keep pace with the rapid evolution of the biomedical research enterprise. NIGMS expects that the proposed research training programs will incorporate didactic, research, and career development elements to prepare trainees for careers that will have a significant impact on the health-related research needs of the nation.

Application Instructions

Please submit:

  1. A one‐page letter of intent with a description of proposed aims and approach.
  2. If the final application requires a diversity statement or statement of broader impacts, please summarize your plans to address the specific requirements on an additional page.
  3. CV (not biosketch) of the PI.

to limitedsubs@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Proposals are due to the sponsor 1/29/2024, so you will need to have your materials in to the Office of Sponsored Programs by 1/18/2024 if given the go‐ahead by the Limited Submissions review committee.
