Frontiers Planet Prize
The Frontiers Research Foundation created the Frontiers Planet Prize in 2022 as a global competition for scientists and research institutions to propose solutions to help the planet remain within the safe operating space of any one or more of the 9 Planetary Boundaries, as described by Johan Rockström and Owen Gaffney in their book and documentary of the same name.
The Frontiers Planet Prize will be awarded to the best research published in established peer-reviewed scientific journals, with robust peer review and transparent publication procedures. The acceptance date of the article must fall within the 2 years prior to the launch of the competition (date of acceptance: 1 November 2022 to 31 October 2024).
Application Instructions
Please submit:
1. FPP Scientist Application form completed (email limitedsubs@uw.edu to obtain a copy of the application form)
2. CV (not biosketch) of the PI
to limitedsubs@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Application forms are due to the sponsor 11/1/2024 if given the go‐ahead by the Limited Submissions review committee.
Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
