Office of Research
Action for Women’s Health
Note: This is not a limited submission but requires coordination with internal partners. Faculty with primary appointments in Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, Pharmacy, and Dentistry should contact Lene Hansen (leneh@uw.edu), Central Foundation Relations, to discuss their applications. Faculty with primary appointments with UW Medicine should contact Damien Chapman (damienc@uw.edu), Medicine CFR, to discuss their applications.
In May of this year, Melinda French Gates announced she was committing $1 billion—to be spent over the next two years—to advance women’s power globally.
As part of that commitment, Pivotal Philanthropies Foundation is launching Action for Women’s Health, a $250 million global open call, managed by Lever for Change, that will fund organizations working to improve women’s mental and physical health.
Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
