AI for Economic Opportunity
The GitLab Foundation is excited to announce that the third round of the AI for Economic Opportunity Fund is now open. They seek bold proposals that show how AI can meaningfully transform the systems that shape economic opportunity. Examples include reimagining service delivery, unlocking new forms of personalized education and training, improving efficiency at scale, or creating entirely new ways to connect people with income, skills, benefits, and opportunity. We welcome both transformative approaches and incremental applications, so long as they hold the potential to drive lasting, meaningful change.
This initiative, powered by a partnership between the GitLab Foundation and OpenAI, continues their shared commitment to advancing income growth and economic opportunity through innovative uses of AI.
The funder is seeking bold projects that use AI to expand economic mobility — from unlocking data for impact, to making services more affordable, to helping workers navigate education and job pathways.

Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
