Scaling Pathways to Homeownership

Note: This is a courtesy announcement. It is not necessary to send pre-proposals to limitedsubs@uw.edu

Eligibility Requirements

Scaling Pathways to Homeownership is a $25 million initiative sponsored by the Capital One Foundation designed to identify and support bold solutions that expand access to affordable homeownership across the United States.

This Open Call seeks solutions that can drive transformative change, including innovations in housing counseling, consumer education, and for-sale housing production at scale. Priority will be given to proposals with the potential to create meaningful and measurable impact through resources and tools that address information gaps or supply challenges, improve access, and support homeownership readiness to make it easier for individuals and families to benefit from the wealth-building that can come from homeownership.

The Scaling Pathways to Homeownership Open Call is open to organizations across the United States and U.S. Territories, including partnerships and collaborations. Competitive applications will present solutions that are innovative, impactful, bridge-building, and durable — demonstrating measurable potential to expand homeownership, strengthen community partnerships, and sustain long-term change.

Application Instructions

Departments, schools, and centers within or based in a college/university, can register and submit separate applications as long as the proposed solutions are different and separate. To that end, teams are encouraged to coordinate with leadership and research staff in relevant units.

Applicants must register by 12/17/25 (5pm ET). Applications are due by 1/29/26 (5pm ET) with the OSP deadline of 1/20/2026.

Inquiries and Contact Information

Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.

For general inquiries, or to request a listing of a limited submission opportunity that should be but is not already listed, please email us at limitedsubs@uw.edu.
