St. Baldrick's Foundation Research Grants
Please note that this category, Research Grants, has an earlier deadline of 10/16/2026 for a required LOI. The other Spring Grant Cycle opportunities (Scholars, International Scholars, Survivorship and Supportive Care), have the LOI deadline of 12/8/2026, so they will be announced in mid-October.
Research Grants, $100,000 per year for two years
These grants are for specific research projects which are hypothesis driven and may be either laboratory, clinical, or epidemiological in nature.
Current funding priorities are divided into four categories:
- New discovery research
- Translational research and early phase clinical trials
- Phase III clinical trials & infrastructure support of participating institutions (primarily the fall grant cycle)
- Education of new pediatric oncology researchers
In addition to research to understand the biology of childhood cancers and discover leads to more effective treatments, topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Adolescents & young adults
- Survivorship, outcomes, and quality of life
- Supportive care
- Epidemiology and pediatric cancer predispositions
- Precision medicine
- Alternative & complementary therapies
Application Instructions
Please submit as one combined pdf labeled with PI’s Lastname, Firstname:
- A one‐page letter of intent with a description of proposed aims and approach.
- If the final application requires a statement of broader impacts, please summarize your plans to address the specific requirements on an additional page.
- CV (not biosketch) of the PI including past grant funding.
to limitedsubs@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered. Required letters of intent are due to the sponsor 10/16/2026 if given the go‐ahead by the Limited Submissions review committee.
Inquiries and Contact Information
Investigators who identify a grant, award or fellowship program that restricts the number of applications that can be submitted from an Institution should immediately contact their Chairperson, Associate Dean for Research (or Dean, if no ADR) and the Office of Research (see below) if they intend to prepare a response. Failure to do so, or to meet the deadlines for submission of pre-proposal, will preclude submission of the application through the Office of Sponsored Programs.
