Basic information, referral, education, guidance and support is available to help members of the UW community analyze eldercare needs, research services and better cope with care and aging issues.

The Retirement Center and UW Benefits & Work/Life offer assistance to help locate eldercare resources locally, regionally and nationally.

Retirement Center
By phone or in person the Retirement Center offers basic referral to care support services beyond the campus. And eldercare resource library is available at the center. Other on-line information on eldercare is available at this website by clicking on the eldercare links in the left column.

The Retirement Center offers periodic Eldercare Workshops to University employees and their family members. The facilitator gives participants a thorough introduction and a handbook on the needs, finances, care options, legal issues and family dynamics that are part of elder and adult care.

Benefits & Work/Life
UW Benefits & Work/Life Office offers lunch-time seminars on aging and caregiving topics. An ongoing caregiver network provides opportunities for peer support among employees who are also caregivers. The Work/Life staff provides in-person or phone referral to support services beyond the campus. Additional resource listings are available at their website.
