Retiree Advocacy
The UWRA is an advocate for strong state retiree pension programs.
The UWRA also supports, monitors and encourages development of privileges the UW offers to its
retirees in recognition of their contributions and to encourage their continued involvement in the life of the University.
The UWRA
- Tracks legislative developments pertinent to state and higher education retiree pensions and Medicare subsidies
- Champions the creation and continuation of privileges that encourage retiree participation in the life of the campus community. Examples: Free parking on the UW Seattle campus and continued email access for all retirees*
- Represents UW retirees with the UW administration regarding policies that affect retirees
- Contacts members about relevant retiree information from the University, the state and other sources
