UWRA Scholarships and Fellowships

UWRA’s scholarships and fellowships support UW students headed toward careers in aging-related fields. Students from a wide variety of majors apply for these awards.

Spring 2008 Scholarship and Fellowship Awards

In Spring 2008 the UWRA awarded four $3,000 scholarships to UW students. In addition, three fellowships of $5,000 each, per year were renewed for graduate students continuing their studies.

Scholarships

A substantial endowment and generous member donations make it possible for us to award annual scholarships totaling $12,000. Our UWRA scholarship endowment increases annually, thanks to member donations and University House community fees. Members also donate to boost the amount of annual scholarship awards.

Scholarship applications

UWRA seeks applicants from a wide range of programs. Recent applicants have included majors in Architecture, Audiology, Comparative History of Ideas, Pharmacy and Health Administration.
Scholarship application and deadline date for the coming year are posted in later fall at the link below. Paper copies are available from the UW Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, Room 105 Schmitz Hall. Scholarships are awarded in the spring.

Fellowships

Up to three renewable graduate fellowship awards, totaling $15,000 a year, are drawn from established UWRA endowed fellowship funds. Applications are distributed to departments by the Graduate School annually in years when fellowships become available.
