Service

RFPK provides service to the biomedical community as part of the activities of a research resource. Usually, service users request routine analysis, minimal consultation or a review of available methods. This may be carried out in a variety of ways:

  • the user may visit RFPK for a few days, with his/her own data, thus being instructed in the methodology and the pitfalls of data analysis, or

  • the consultation may take place via email or phone.

The projects are selected using similar, albeit somewhat more inclusive, criteria as those for collaborations. Since service users encompass a wide range of expertise, interacting with them also allows RFPK to better measure the pulse of the community, in terms of software and training needs. We require that our service users cite our source of support, grant P41-EB-01975 from NIH/NIBIB.

Glossary

As we investigated the population analysis problem, we at RFPK have realized that one major barrier to communication among physiologists, mathematicians, statisticians and mathematical modelers is the lack of a common jargon. We are attempting to facilitate this communication by developing and making available to the community an on-line, cross-referenced glossary for population kinetic modeling terms, algorithms and methods.

Download Glossary

In order to download the Glossary, you will need to fill out a short questionaire. Once you click the "submit" button, you will have access to the glossary.

Download glossary (1.26MB PDF*). Please check both frequently for updates and changes.

Guidelines for Data Submission

RFPK and the University of Washington have developed a set of guidelines for the purpose of insuring compliance by the biomedical investigators collaborating with RFPK with established Institutional Review Board (IRB) practices and rules regarding the collection, analysis and dissemination of human and animal data for the purpose of biomedical research. Data submission to RFPK must abide by the human subject guidelines in this document.

Download Procedure

Please download the Procedure for Submission of Data (108K PDF*) and be sure to comply with its instructions before any data exchange takes place.
