ACT, Advocacy Council for Tomorrow, is a committee which
speaks on behalf of students to administrators from both
components of Housing and Food Services (HFS), living
and dining. The Director of Internal Affairs oversees this
committee and two RHSA General Council Representatives
are co-chairs. ACT is made up of only residence hall
students who work with HFS to improve the residence hall
experience. ACT is a great opportunity to work with a
budget, advocate for residents and to make a clear impact
on your community.

.pdf HFS Housing Rates Proposal 2011-2012
The Budget Review Committee, chaired by the Director of Administration and Finance, is made up of various RHSA representatives, and the Director and AD of Operations from each residence hall. The committee learns how HFS runs and operates, and is the first student body that learns about the upcoming RHSA budget and Housing Rates for the succeeding year. Meetings will include an exact breakdown of any rate increases and how HFS money will be spent in the next year, as well as the overall financial changes that HFS is making that directly affects residents. The committee members are asked to attend these meetings so that they will have a better understanding of what is going on and so they can assist other RHSA representatives or members of their hall council in understanding any budget changes for the next year from RHSA. This is one of the more exciting committees because you have the ability to directly affect resident life for residents in the next year. Also, once the budget information has been presented, the hall councils and then RHSA General Council will vote on whether they choose to endorse HFS in their rate increase/budget changes. Any resident is also highly encouraged to attend the Hall Council or RHSA General Council meetings when the budget presentations are given.
