Washington GAP Data
Data represent predicted distribution of wildlife based on land cover, habitat relationship models, and additional data.
Three vertebrate taxa are considered: Mammals, Birds, and Herptiles (amphibians and reptiles).
Land cover analysis performed with Landstat TM data (25-meter resolution).
Mapping of “polygons” conducted with a Minimum Mapping Unit of 100 ha.
Existing Gap analysis and interpretation conducted using ecoregions and vegetation zones as the areas of interest -- insufficient resolution for local land use planning.
