Relevant Information and Concepts
Create a concept map, concept clusters, or some other form to organize information that is relevant to your research. Be sure to indicate why certain information is grouped together (e.g. provide headings for clusters). Also note the relationships you see between concepts.
In order to complete this step, you may first need to gather information about your research topic from a variety of sources (i.e. experts, books, articles, the Internet). You may also need to make several drafts of your organizational format before you are satisfied with one which clearly communicates how ideas related to your research are connected. This is a way of finding out what you know, and what more you need to know, before you begin your actual research.
