Job description
Provides pharmaceutical care to patients. Participates as a member of the Pain Management Team and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Processes new prescriptions and refills, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness. Performs utilization reviews and performance improvement activities. Provides education to patients, providers and clinic staff. Works with health care providers in both consultative and collaborative role. Plays a key role with clinical services by verifying the medical necessity of pharmaceuticals. Assists with administrative activities.

This site is eligible for the Indian Health Service Loan Repayment Program. This is a great opportunity for those candidates who have just graduated or finished a residency program or those with current student loans. The loan money awarded is in addition to the salary.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an outpatient, ambulatory care medical clinic with in-house pharmacy. Long periods of sitting, standing, reaching and bending may be required. Work environment requires exposure to chemicals, toxic substances, communicable diseases, bodily fluids, x-ray, weather hazards, human behavior, fumes and odors. Requires frequent computer use. Duties may require travel.

Requirements
Education:
Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy required. Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred.

Experience:
Years of clinical practice experience (at least 50% of time) in outpatient/ambulatory care:

1. BS without residency = 5 years
2. BS with residency = 3 years
3. BS with general and specialty residency = 0 years
4. PharmD without residency = 3 years
5. PharmD with residency = 0 years
6. PharmD graduate who completed clinical clerkships within the last six months considered
