Judi Lee Mar-Burbidge, B.S., Pharm.D.,
ASCP Fellow
PAA Member-at-Large
Judi originally graduated from the UW School
of Pharmacy in 1982, returning to earn her Pharm.D. in 2000.
Over the years, she has worked in a variety of
settings, including as a consultant pharmacist specializing in geriatrics
and women’s health at Group Health and Stevens Hospital. She
developed a long-term-care skilled nursing pharmacy program at Providence
Everett Healthcare and worked in the assisted-living program at
Stevens Healthcare Hadfield Pharmacy. She also managed the Costco
Corporate Pharmacy with its online, mail-order, retail and assisted-living
programs.
After leaving traditional pharmacy practice in
2006, she joined TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc. as the clinical
marketing manager in managed markets. In 2007, she joined Novartis
Pharmaceuticals, where she is currently a regional scientific manager,
working in arthritis, bone, and general established medicine.
Judi has always enjoyed the teaching aspect of
her profession. For eight years, she worked as a consultant pharmacist
on Group Health’s Multidisciplinary Geriatric Team. She has
also worked on the Stevens Hospital Geropsychiatric Multidisciplinary
Team.
Throughout the years, she has been a preceptor
for students at the UW School of Pharmacy, WSU College of Pharmacy,
and at pharmacy-technician programs throughout the Seattle area.
She was promoted to clinical assistant professor at the School of
Pharmacy in 2004. Further, she has been an advisory board member
for the Edmonds Community College Pharmacy Technician Program since
2002.
Judi believes strongly in the importance of collaboration
between the UW School of Pharmacy, the alumni and the students.
Such efforts, she says, allow each group to learn and become stronger.
“It’s a win-win situation,” she says.
