Suzanne Lee, B.S., Pharm.D.
PAA Past President
Suzanne Lee arrived in the United States from
Vietnam in 1975. After working odd jobs, she decided to go back
to school to become a pharmacy technician. She worked at Northwest
Hospital for 12 years before earning her B.S. in pharmacy from UW
in 1988. While continuing to work, Suzanne returned to UW to earn
her Pharm.D. in 2001.
A clinical pharmacist, she has been at Northwest
Hospital for more than 32 years. She works in the intensive-care/critical-care
units and continues to love her job and profession.
In 2002, she was awarded the UW Wayne A. Kradjan
Clinical Teaching Award for her work as a preceptor. Suzanne has
been a clinical assistant professor for the UW School of Pharmacy
for more than three years.
Each year, she spends a month in Japan to teach
at UW’s sister school, Keio University, in Tokyo. She also
precepts two students from Keio University, two students from Khon
Kaen University in Thailand, and one student from Creighton University
in Omaha, Neb., every year.
For fun, Suzanne loves shopping, fishing and
movies. She is an avid baseball fan and loves Ichiro. Her true joy,
however, is her family — her two daughters, her grandson and
her granddaughter.
She greatly enjoys PAA for the opportunity it
gives her to keep in touch with fellow pharmacists and stay involved
in School activities which support School programs, alumni and students.
Suzanne joined the executive board of PAA as a way to give back
to the School, and she hopes to encourage other pharmacists to do
the same.
