Q: Is there an upper limit on the number of compartments for SAAM II?

A: SAAM II does not impose a limit on the number of compartments that can be included in a model.  However, as a model gets larger, the demands on a computer to Solve or Fit increase exponentially with the number of parameters in the model.  A newer PC with 1 GHz or better processor speed and 256 Mb or more of RAM should handle very large models.  PCs with a processor speed under 1 GHz will handle large models, but a significant amount of time may be required to Fit the model.
