Q: How can I calculate the Area Under the Curve to infinity?
A: SAAM II does not calculate the Area
Under the Curve to infinity, but only up to the
end of the experiment.
Depending on how long the experiment lasts, the difference between the
calculated AUC and the AUC to infinity can be substantial.
A "rule of thumb" to calculate the AUC to infinity is to extend
the experiment time for at least 3 times the inverse of the slowest system
time constant.
However, you should also check that, for increasing values of the experiment
time, the AUC does not change substantially.
