Going Green with 2-Sided Printing
Date: 09/30/2009

As part of LST's work to help the UW be as green as possible, we have provided easy 2-Sided printing for many years. Starting Autumn quarter 2009, we are taking the next step, and setting 2-Sided Printing as the default for all of our computer systems. We are also looking forward to the switch to 100% recycled paper in all of the printers that we use later in the quarter.

These changes are in part driven by the requirements of House Bill 2287, which was recently signed by Governor Gregoire. The bill asks all state funded agencies to reduce their paper consumption by 30% over the next year, as well as requires the use of 100% recycled paper in all copiers and printers.

We hope that you will help meet the targeted reduction in printing by using the 2-Sided printing options wherever you can, previewing your work before you print, and printing only what you need. Visit Dawg Prints to get more information, and download the drivers you need to print 2-sided to the public Dawg Prints Stations.
