Reading DATA into SAS using SAS ASSIST

Start SAS by selecting the ICON . Or start sas from the Windows Start Button. SAS will load and display the startup Progam and Log windows:

Click on the ASSIST picture (see the pointer) to start SAS ASSIST. The ASSIST screen will appear:

Click on the DATA MGMT selection (see pointer) to start the DATA MANAGEMENT screen:

To begin to READ data into SAS click the CREATE/IMPORT selection (pointer) to load the selection menu:

From this menu choose FLAT FILE to read ascii data or IMPORT DATA (Beta) to import data from a spread sheet.
