  19. 01/07/2022 Congratulations to IITB for their EA project based publication journal of Environmental Modeling and Software titled "Sentinel-1 based Inland water dynamics Mapping System (SIMS)."
  20. 11/20/2021 IITB, a SWOT Early Adopter, publishes a SWOT CNES simulator based study over the Mahanadi river basin in India in the journal of Advances in Space Research. The work is expected to lay the foundation to further the operational use and assimilation of SWOT L2 data for river-reservoir management.
  21. 11/20/2021 IITB, a SWOT Early Adopter, in collaboration with CWRDM, another SWOT Early Adopter, publishes a paper in Frontiers of Water, showcasing the potential of SWOT for lake studies. The specific lake is under the SWOT 1-day orbit and is expected to be part of a broader SWOT cal/val effort for lakes during the SWOT 1-day phase.
  22. 11/08/2021 Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), a SWOT Early Adopter, has contributed high value Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler measurements for two Indus Rivers for potential use by SWOT Discharge Algorithm Working Group of SWOT Science Team. Earlier, PCRWR contributed to the set up of citizen-based monitoring of two lakes in Pakistan for SWOT Lake Citizen Science led by Dr Tamlin Pavelsky and Dr. Jean-Francois Cretaux.
  23. 11/08/2021 Texas Water Development Board (a SWOT Early Adopter) has co-developed with University of Washington an Experimental Multi-sensor Lake Area Estimation Tool for estimation of evaporative losses. This tool is expected to be the template for future operational ingestion of SWOT Level 2 lake area data after SWOT launch and will help TWDB make more robust decisions on water supply for all Texans. This tool and EA project will also help SWOT mission's cal/val of lake products as the SWOT 1-day orbit will overpass numerous Texas lakes and reservoirs during the first 3 months after launch.
  24. 11/07/2021 Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), a SWOT Early Adopter, has published a peer-reviewed paper in ASCE Journal of Hydrologic Engineering based on SWOT Early Adopter project in Myanmar for flood preparedness. This also paper received the EDITOR'S CHOICE recognition for 2021.
  25. 10/26/2021 NASA SPoRT, and IIT-Bombay, two mature SWOT Early Adopters, have shared SWOT simulated data as examples over Alaska river (SPoRT) and Mahanadi river (IITB) to help USGS, a new SWOT Early Adopter, get its project off the ground.
  26. 10/24/2021 NASA SPoRT, a SWOT Early Adopter, has published two peer-reviewed publications in Water Resources Research based on SWOT Early Adopter project led by Dr. Nicholas Elmer. The first one (published in 2020) laid the foundation for the use of SWOT CNES simulator over Alaskan rivers for WRF-Hydro experiments. It also developed tutorials. The recent one (in 2021) demonstrated the robustness of parameter calibration for hydrodynamic-hydrologic models using multi-point water surface data (that will be available from SWOT) when compared to single-point water surface data (that is the current pre-SWOT norm today).
