Student Office Assistant - South Campus Center
Wage: $ 9.25 per hour to start.
Job Duties
- Open/close the administration office depending on shift.
- Assist reservation clients and the general public.
- Check out room keys. Open rooms.
- Answer telephones; respond to walk up customers. Provide information and help customers.
- Set up or break down room furnishings and audio visual equipment each shift.
- Enter reservation data into computerized reservation program based on multivariable criteria, generate reports.
- Maintain and clean equipment. Other duties as assigned.
Shift
- Monday: 6:45 AM - 12:30 PM
- Tuesday: 6:45 AM - 10:00 AM
- Wednesday: 6:45 AM - 10:00 AM
- Thursday: 6:45 AM - 10:00 AM
- Friday: 6:45 AM - 2:30 PM.
- Some variation of the shift times may be possible.
Student Building Manager - South Campus Center
Wage: $ 9.25 per hour to start.
Job Duties
- Responsible for building management. Monitor the building for compliance with building policies, ensure safety and security of building and building patrons, take building counts.
- Open or Close the building, operate alarm system.
- Set-up and/or store 6’ and 8’ tables, stacks of chairs and audio visual equipment each shift.
- Assist reservation customers/building clients, check out keys, open rooms, resolve problems.
- Post notices, event schedules and room cards.
- Wash and refill vacuum and coffee pots each shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
Shift
- Thursday: 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM
- Friday: 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM.
- Saturday: 11:45 AM - 5:15 PM
- Must be able to accommodate later shifts on Friday and/or earlier or later shifts on Saturday
depending on special events. Must be willing to fill in for other Student Building Managers as
requested and as your schedule allows.
Job Requirements
MUST be a UW student with excellent communication skills, public contact experience, reliable, detail-oriented, possess problem solving skills AND have the physical ability to lift/move furniture and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Prefer students who are willing to work Summer Quarter and the interim, August 22 through September 29, 2009. Vacation time is a possibility. Positions may continue into the academic year. Training can start during the week of August 15.
